Accounting and Payroll Administration program helps you gain computer and office administration skills and a practical foundation in accounting, bookkeeping, computerized accounting systems, and payroll.

Accounting courses will prepare you to enter the workforce by teaching you how to do journal entries, how to read financial statements, and how to adjust accounts.

Program Description

  • Peerless Training Institute (PTI) offering two year “Business Administration Diploma” that is designed to develop students’ abilities to understand business concepts, terms and theories, as well as to think critically and communicate effectively.
  • The “Diploma program” provides basic Business Administration skills. Students use computers, computer skills and software applications necessary to prosper in a business environment. Courses provide an understanding of business administration methods, management skills and business knowledge.
  • This program provides students with both the broad conceptual framework and the work-specific skills they need to build a meaningful and successful career. Plus, you will choose a concentration that will allow you to focus on one area of specialisation:
  • Available on Monday to Friday , 4 Hours per day.
  • Program Duration: Total course hours: 2092: 1st Year- 960 hours, 2nd year-832 hours & 300 hours practicum.


Course Duration & Timings

  •  2 Years: 2092 Hours (96 Weeks) 
  • 20 Hours a Week, 4 Hours Theory.
  • Shift timings Theory: Monday to Friday:  Morning Group 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM ,  Evening Group 2:30 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Shift timings Practicum: Monday to Friday:  9:00 AM  to 9:00 PM. You can set up the time with program coordinator.

Admission Requirements

  • Standard Admission: AB High School diploma, verified by transcript, non AB equivalent or GED. Mature Admission: Must be 18 years of age; must complete an academic achievement test ie. Wonderlic with a score of 20 at minimum. All students must complete a successful interview with the College Program Chair or Administrative Manager. If ESL, must meet CLB level 6.0 or IELTS equivalent. Candidates must produce evidence of English ability or complete the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (WBST) with a minimum of 60 % in each of the verbal and quantitative skills. International students must supply transcripts that are equivalent to the standard admission requirements or complete the WBST.


Total Tuition$28,000.00 (Reviewed Annually)

Total Books/Supplies/Other Fees$3,000.00


This program is eligible for full-time post-secondary assistance by Student Aid Alberta for the funding year 2019/08/01 to 2020/07/31*.

Accounting and Payroll Diploma

PTI's Accounting and Payroll Administration program will help you gain computer and office administration skills and a practical foundation in accounting, bookkeeping, computerized accounting systems, and payroll. Our accounting courses will prepare you to enter the workforce by teaching you how to do journal entries, how to read financial statements, and how to adjust accounts. Payroll courses will equip you with the tools necessary to meet the demands of the current job market.


Program Description

  • Peerless Training Institute’s Accounting and Payroll Diploma Program will help you to develop proficiency as an accounting and payroll clerk in a wide variety of areas.
  • This program provides students with the skills and education that allows them to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Program subjects include Bookkeeping and Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Computerized Accounting with Simply by Sage Level 1 & 2, Payroll Fundamentals 1 & 2, Human Resource Management, Microsoft Applications, Accounting and Taxation, Financial & Management, Business Communication. Marketing & Economics, Computer Fundamentals with keyboarding, Microsoft Word Level 1 & 2, Microsoft Excel Level 1 & 2, Tax Application / software (Turbo Tax/ U file / profile).
  • Learn to use Microsoft Windows applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Available on Monday to Friday , 8 Hours per day.
  • Program Duration: Total course hours: 52 weeks, 45 weeks theory and 7 weeks (140 hours) in-house practicum


Course Duration & Timings

  •  1 Year or Less: 1040 Hours (52 Weeks) 
  • 30 Hours a Week, 5 Hours Theory for 5 Days and 5 Hours of Practicum per week. 
  • Shift timings Theory: Monday to Friday:  Morning Group 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM ,  Evening Group 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM
  • Shift timings Practicum: Monday to Friday:  9:00 AM  to 9:00 PM. You can set up the time with program coordinator.

Admission Requirements

  • Prerequisites: - Alberta high school diploma / non-Alberta equivalent / GED - English proficiency - CLB 6, IELTS (academic module) 5 - Keyboarding (15 wpm, no errors) - Clear security clearance - Ability to carry out the workload - Interview with Program Coordinator Mature Admission: - 18 years or older - At least one year out of school - Successful completion of Wonderlic Test (passing mark is 20).
