Computer Application, Database Management & Network Administration

The Diploma in Computer Application, Database Management, and Network Administration gains you professional-level skills in this industry. Students will be prepared to enter the workforce as Application Specialists, Data managers, Network Administrators, or other professional positions requiring knowledge of general applications. 

Program Description: 

Computer Applications

  • Work with both Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Develop skills with high demand industry software such as Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) 
  • Learn how to format professional emails and messages online
  • Gain experience with fundamental PC skills

Data Management

  • Develop your typing skills and achieve an  impressive WPM
  • Gain experience with data entry and  administrative assistance work related to computers
  • Gain the knowledge to organize large databases efficiently
  • Learn how to utilize the software for forecasting  and data analysis

Network Administration 

  • Learn how to manage and maintain a network
  • Develop an understanding of cloud storage and its benefits
  • Become confident with network troubleshooting
  • Learn about automation and scripting
  • Learn to work in a team of other network administrators for large systems
  • Course Duration:
  • 2 Years: 1136 Hours
  • 20 Hours per Week
  • Classes are held mornings, evenings, or on weekends
  • In house practicum hours
Headlines Course Outline
Computer Applications, Data Management and Network Administration 1. Gain critical experience with PC fundamentals and the use of applications
2. Use knowledge of technology to analyze and maintain workplace data
3. Gain the experience to manage a network for a workplace or contribute to a network administration team

Standard Admission:

  1. Minimum 18 years of age 
  2. Alberta High School Diploma or equivalent

Mature Students

  1. Must have been out of school for at least 1 year and passed the entrance exam (Wonderlic with a  passing mark of 20) 
  2. Interview with school administration to determine program suitability.

  

International Students

  1. Assessment from IQAS, WES, or other assessment agencies recognized by Peerless Training Institute.
  2. English Language Benchmark 6 (CLBA) or IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.

  1. Program Total Cost: $ 22,500 (2 academic years)   YR 1: $19,000 YR 2: $3500
  2. Books, Software, and Supplies/ Materials are not included  
  3. Reviewed Annually

Program Eligibility

 This program is eligible for full-time post-secondary assistance by Student Aid Alberta for the funding year 2021/08/01 to 2022/07/31 for year one and reapplies for year two.
