Massage Therapy Diploma

Massage Therapy Offices require qualified Massage Therapist professionals. Peerless Training Institute has formulated the Massage Therapist Diploma Course. We prepare students with the knowledge and professional skills. We are confident that our graduates will be an asset in massage therapy clinics. We are following a widely accepted curriculum and universally accepted textbooks as references for the course-industry-specific guidelines and expectations of Health Canada and Alberta Health. Our students are trained in infection control protocols, universal precaution standards, and privacy of patient information.

Program Description

  1. Our instructors are industry experts with strong instructional experience, at Alberta Health. They are specialized in adult education for health and massage therapy fields. 
  2. Peerless Training Institute allows students to prepare themselves for a successful career in the massage therapy industry. Through this Massage Therapist Diploma Course, students will be provided with hands-on training in the classroom and an in-depth practical experience. Upon completion, the graduate will be proficient in fulfilling the role of a Massage Therapist.

Course Duration

  1. 2 years: 2225 Hours (100 weeks)
  2. Classes are held mornings, evenings, or on weekends

Year 1: (50 Weeks)

  1. 20 hours per week for the first 40 weeks
  2. 30 hours per week for the last 10 weeks

Year 2: (50 Weeks)

  1. 20 hours per week for the first 40 weeks 
  2. 30 hours per week for the last 10 weeks
  3. Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C
  4. Career Counselling

Standard Admission Requirement

One of the following:​                                                                 

1. Alberta high school diploma​

2.  Non-Alberta equivalent Credit in English 30-1​

3.   Minimum 65% in English 30-2

 4 .  Credit in a Grade 10 math (excluding Math 10-4 and Math 16 levels)

 5.   Completion of the G.E.D.​

Mature Admission Requirement

Mature Students:

Alberta Mature Admission

  1. The student must be 18 years of age; must complete an academic achievement test ie. Wonderlic with a score of 20 at minimum.
  2. All students must complete a successful interview with the College Program Chair or Administrative Manager.
  3. If ESL, the student must meet CLB level 6.0 or IELTS equivalent.
  4. Candidates must produce evidence of English ability or complete the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (WBST) with a minimum of 60 % in each of the verbal and quantitative skills.
  5. International students must supply transcripts that are equivalent to the standard admission requirements or complete the WBST.

B.C. Mature Admission

    1. The student has graduated from grade 12 or equivalent (B.C. high school diploma, B.C. Adult Graduation Diploma, General Educational Development) or an equivalent secondary school completion from another jurisdiction.
    2. The student is 19 years of age or older before the start of classes and has demonstrated evidence at the appropriate level of literacy, numeracy, comprehension and/or written skills to enable successful completion of the program.

Massage Therapy/ Clinical Sciences: Hydrotherapy, Joint Mobilizations, Lymphatic Drainage, Myofascial, Neuromuscular, Orthopedic Assessment, Practicum, Pregnancy Massage, Relaxation Massage, Sports Massage, Student Clinical Experience, Swedish Massage, Therapeutic Exercise, Therapeutic Massage, Treatment Planning, Trigger point, etc 
  3. Professional Practice: Business, Communication, Ethics, First Aid/CPR, Therapeutic Relationships, etc Other Modalities: Acupressure, Aromatherapy, Craniosacral, Reflexology, Reiki, Thai Massage, Tuina, etc
