Medical Office Assistant Course

Peerless Training Institute is proud to offer its 36-week Medical Office Assistant Diploma Program. Medical Office Assistants, sometimes called Medical Office Administrators, play an important role in the healthcare system and keep medical offices or clinics running smoothly and efficiently. Graduates of the Peerless Training Institute’s Medical Office Assistant program are often the first people to interact with patients, meaning they can shape the experience of an entire visit. 

Our Medical Office Assistant Course not only teaches you the specialist skills required to be part of a healthcare team; but also core administrative skills that are transferable across all industries.

Program Description

  3. You will participate in the delivery of a variety of healthcare industry tasks.
  4. Multiple scheduling options have been provided and designed for flexibility and convenience with your work schedule. 

Course Duration

  1. 31 weeks (620 Hours) : Theory 
  2. 5 weeks (175 hours): Practicum
  3. Theory 20 hours per week
  4. Practicum 35 hours per week
  5. Classes held Mornings, Evening and or on Weekends.
  6. Practicum: Monday to Friday: shift times do vary at Practicum sites days/evening. There is the possibility of weekend shifts depending on the Practicum site.

Admission Requirements

  1. Minimum 18 years of age -Alberta High School Diploma or equivalent 
  2. Mature students- away from school for at least 1 year and pass entrance exam (Wonderlic, passing mark of 20) International Student Assessment from IQAS, WES, or other assessment agencies recognized by Peerless Training Institute -English Language Benchmark 6(CLBA) or IELTS 5.5 -Interview with the school to determine program suitability.
