Additional Information

New international students can find the tuition and fee deposit information on their conditional letters of acceptance. All fees must be paid in Canadian dollars. To protect students and PTI, and to comply with Canada’s anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing regulations, money sent to PTI will be used only to prepay tuition and student fees. No refunds will be paid to students, only to the original sender, and only if the study permit application is withdrawn or denied.

All payments from outside Canada must be made through the Trust Bank Account with the Royal Bank of Canada. PTI will provide detailed banking information along with Students’ Offers of Acceptance. When your payment through the Trust Account has been processed, the bank will generate a confirmation letter to support your study permit application.

The amount transferred to PTI will be applied to your tuition and fees for the first year of study. Any amount remaining will be used to pay future terms’ tuition and fees. Funds will not be refunded to you for any reason while you are still in Canada. PTI does not charge any service fee, nor do we pay any interest on the deposit. The money deposited with PTI is for prepayment of tuition only. Money will not be refunded to you for living expenses. You will need to make arrangements with a chartered bank or credit union to deposit funds to cover your living expenses.

If you transfer to another post-secondary education institution within Canada, you can request that we transfer your remaining deposit to that institution. You will be asked to provide us with information including confirmation of registration from the institution to which you are transferring.

In the event that you do not come to Canada, the deposit will be refunded to the original payor through International Wire Transfer for less than $200 to cover PTI’s administrative fee. You must first provide a Student Finance letter from the embassy indicating that your study permit application was denied or withdrawn.

Please allow 4-6 weeks for a refund of this type to be processed.
